The PDC consortium is an organization established to disseminate Piezo Drive Cone (PDC) which enables to estimate liquefaction potential more economically and efficiently than conventional methods.

The 2011 off the Pacific Coast of Tohoku Earthquake (the Great East Japan Earthquake) caused the liquefaction in the wide waterfront area of the metropolitan and occured a lot of damage such as differential settlement, the lateral flow of river levee and road embankment.

The PDC Consortium is an organization to disseminate PDC, which enables to estimate liquefaction potential more economically and efficiently than conventional methods.Our goal is contributing to the mitigation of liquefaction damage according to investigate the liquefaction potential by using PDC.

Also, the PDC Consortium has established the academics committee and conducts technical studies to disseminate and upgrade the ground investigation methods by PDC as a new liquefaction investigation method.The committee members include universities and research institutes such as the Public Works Research Institute and the Port and Airport Research Institute as an independent administrative agency.
